What would you write about?

November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). Are you thinking of writing a 50,000-word novel? Can you finish it in 30 days?

If you could (or are!), what would you write about?

P.S.--this is a rare double-post, here and at the birding blog. It's not often that the worlds of backyard birding and political turmoil collide, so try to ignore the resulting sonic boom. I can't wait to compare and contrast the comments from both sites!

I pore over a single sentence for fifteen minutes. 50k words in 30 days? That's just impossible. I'll leave that up to you superheroes. ;-)

I want to write a novel that takes place during the construction of the interstate highway system.

Doesn't that sound riveting? Maybe that's why I haven't gotten around to it yet.

I'm torn DG. November is also my birthday month and I usually take a break from my novelist activities.

I wrote my published novel in about 30 days. It took about two months to edit it before I got it published.

I'd write about reality, but no one would believe it.

I would write about the difference I see between parenting now and parenting when I grew up. Of course, since I don't have kids nobody would think I know what I was talking about.

Keep in mind this is what I would write about at this moment because I just read what Bells On wrote. I could probably come up with ten things to write 50k words about but I don't think I would ever do actually do it.

Peace.

I've actually started a novel about a rich Texas girl who turns away from her family fortune, enrolls in culinary school and meets a lesbian from New England.
But finishing an entire novel in 30 days? I'll leave that to the bipolars.

I'd write about the state of our humanity and the state of the Earth. All living beings are under constant attack and this is the only living sphere where it all exists as far as we know. That includes birds too!

by the way, I am giving you some awards dear.

The Resident Offspring did begin a NaNoWriMo effort a couple of years ago, but gave up after a couple of pages. Her mother knows it is futile to even begin.

I've got an idea, but can I do it in 30 days? Only if I stay the heck away from the internets.

lol on the double posting :)

I don't think I could write a novel first off...

Second...it would be too full of cussin' so most folks would get tired of reading it real quick.

Randal--ha!

Jess--wow. Exciting.

Spartacus--wouldn't want to get in the way of the birthdaying!

Matt--we could BOTH do that, talking about the same things Vik describes. OR -- we could get Vik to do it.

Karen--sounds like a good book. Where is this woman?

Lib--true enough. And thanks!

Barbara B--I always give up after a couple of pages too.

DCup--me too!

Dusty--hee hee

DCap--ZING!
