New year, new bloggy header

As discussed previously, the header for this blog has changed to "...other dreams" (though the URL remains the same), because Nancy Pelosi and the other chicken dems in Congress can't seem to show any regard for our laws, our Constitution, or international law. The War Criminal in Chief is still in office for a few more weeks, and all we can hope for is the appointment of a special prosecutor (preferably Patrick Fitzgerald) to charge him and his buddy Darth Cheney with war crimes, treason, lying to the American people, illegal invasion and occupation of a sovereign nation, and whatever the hell else you want to add to the indictment. I'm thinking "grand theft" should also be thrown in, as he and his pals have fleeced us out of billions.
Until then, we'll keep dreaming here at the bloggy. You do the same.

I've been considering the whole issue of special prosecutors and congressional hearings in the past few days.

My worry is this: there are so many horrendous problems facing our country right now that will require a tremendous amount of political will to fix--things like healthcare and the wreck of an economy that we have right now. I'm afraid that any attention spent on trying to uncover and address the crimes of the Bush administration will take away from the effort to fix everything else that needs fixing.

It pains me to say this, but I'm almost willing to give a pass on all that if it means getting universal healthcare and a healthy economy back.

Appropriately enough, my word verification is "heriesi" which sounds like heresy.

Now them's fightin' words, Bubs. You know damn well we're not getting universal health care in this century. Another Nixon/Reagan/Bush? Count on it. ;-) I believe both can be done, but there's no way in hell that these yokels would ever attempt it because it would mean actually confronting the talking hairpieces with facts instead of spin and I think that's a felony.

I like it! -the new header and the graphic on this post, NOT the fact that we let a war criminal get away.

Randal said it perfectly so I'll just second him.

I suspect we won't do a darn thing, sad as that is. The Congress will use all the usual excuses and so will the Obama team. Current problems are simply going to trump any investigation. It's sad but I think true.

Bubs--you're right about there being so many other problems, but isn't that like saying that the courts are too backed up, so criminals can have amnesty for a while? I know it's a crap-ton of work, but what the hell--what's one MORE Herculean task, you know?

Randal--you may be right.

Monkey--same to you, friend.

CDP--glad you like your new title!

GKL--glad you like it.

Lib--yup. That Randal's always right, dammit.

Sherry--I fear you're right, but I will keep on dreaming that BushCo and his crooked pals will pay someday. Almost makes me want to believe in a hell. Almost.

dguzman,

Give it up. Obama will not seek legal action against the outgoing administration. Never happen. Not ever. The reasons are obvious. Your best bet is to just get over it.

Obama has already announced plans for $300 billion in tax cuts. If you have hopes for a successful Obama Administration -- one that gets the economy rolling again -- then you'd better forget about partisan vindictiveness and think about strategies that might work.
