Today's "great idea!" award goes to...

Richard Cohen of the WaPo???? Are you effing kidding me? Princess Sparkle Pony would have a small glittery colt if she read this, but I guess even the blind squirrel finds a nut now and then. (or in this case, a nut found a squirrel) His idea?

he's so dreamy!

Make Al Gore Secretary of State. Of course, all one has to do is start a sentence with "Make Al Gore..." and then end it with any position in the government, and you've pretty much shown yourself to be smart in my book.

A couple of other ideas I've been having, great or otherwise:
1. Appoint Hillary Clinton to the Supreme Court.
2. Ask John Edwards to be Attorney General -- uh, this one is kind-of an old idea, pre-diddling around, so ... yeah, forget it. But it would've been cool!

What appointments would you like to see Obama/Biden make?

I saw something about RFK Jr. as head of the EPA. That sounded smart to me. Yeah, Al Gore needs to be doing something. State would be good. Maybe Interior? It'll be interesting to see who gets what.

Tony Richardson Sec. of State.

RFK jr as head of the EPA.

Dennis Kucinich as Sec. of Labor.

Elizabeth Kucinich as Sec. of Hot Monkey Lovin'.

I love the Gore as Secretary of State idea, and either he or Hillary would be great appointments to the Supreme Court. Al was a lawyer, right? I'd also like to see Tom Daschle and Paul Krugman in the administration in one way or another. Also, Kathleen Sebelius.

no,no,no, I don't want to see Hillary on the supreme court. She would be of better use elsewhere.

Believe it or not, she has more power in the senate where she is.

SomeGuy--that would be good for RFK Jr. And Al is a great diplomat and statesman.

Dr. Monkey--good ones all! esp the last one!

CDP--Yes, Al was a lawyer, but he needs something where he can do even more. Those are all good people, CDP!

PiNY--Well, you're right--I have thought that she can take over Kennedy's bag, now that his days are nearing the end, as the liberal senator who can "work across the aisle" (ugh!) and still keep progressive stuff happening.

Enc--yup. Seems the perfect position for him. He'd clean up that whole wrecked dept after Hurricane Condi.

Zipdrive--yup! I hope he takes a high-level position. I want him running as much as possible.

SorCrow--you so crazee!

I'd like to see Gore choosen to be the US representative to the UN. That would send an important message.

Can I be the Minister Of Doling Out Punishments? I promise to be creative.

While I think that Hillary would be great on the Supreme Court, can you imagine the battle over approving her???

Ugh.

I do think that she will end up as secy of state. That said, I also think Dr. Monkey has a great suggestion for SoS in Richardson, excellent.

Gore as Ambassador to the UN maybe? That would be good for him.

Then Dennis Kucinich as the head of the Dept of Peace that he would like to start. I like that one best.

PiNY--works for me. I nominate you to go after this criminal administration we've got. Bust 'em ALL!

Fran--valid point about Hillary--ugh indeed. I've seen Faux Nooz dropping SoS hints all day (you know the work cafeteria TV is stuck on that stupid channel). That would be fine, and definitely Kucinich needs a position--he's dying in Congress because no one will listen to him. Give him some power and watch his smoke!

I'd like to see Tawny Kittaen appointed "Secretary of Washed Up Hotness." Surely there are other fun positions to be filled!

Seriously: Make Hillary Attorney General. When I worked for Legal Aid, she was our hero.

Oh, and Paul Krugman as treasury secretary (not warren buffet!!!).
